things from Pamela Allen's class

Sailboat: a 2 color challenge

Day and Night: A cityscape.  I am going to remove the sun--I think the piece looks better without it.
This is a great class.  I have learned a lot, and met some nice people in cyberland.  Here are some of the things I have done so far in her class.

Jude Hill things

a fishy business, even though the underwater plants look like cacti. Oh, well.
Monster in the garden.  maybe need to fix his saddle.  It kind of gets lost.
I'n not much of a heart person, but hey, it was February
I have been doing some more weaving in Jude Hill's class.  After the weaving part is finished, there is a lot of hand sewing.  Jude is showing how to put pieces together, but I don't know if I will do that.  Maybe later...

some pieces that Rosie and Caroline made

In November I went to visit my twin granddaughters.  They always want to do crafts.  Caroline is obsessed with KU, hence the blue, red and yell9ow preferences.  Rosie uses more color leeway.  I adapted an idea from Quilting Arts Christmas gifts to make the houses.  I had the girls draw a rectangle on canvas. I pressed fusible temtex on the back.  They cut out rectangles for the doors and windows, and helped me sew the windows and doors on the houses. I set them on some white quilt batting, and added some starry night fabric.  I cut out tress from green corduroy, and they decorated the trees. We used glue to stick the stuff down. I you look closely, you can see that the KU fan has even (herself!) cut out a KU for the star. They were very happy with their Christmas wall hangings.

some older quilts

I wanted to show some of the older quilts I have made.  One is the comforter for Rose.  The other 2 my daughter uses as wall hangings.  When the twins were born, my daughter and her husband lived in a rental house.  She wanted something to decorate their walls. One has Sesame Street characters, and the other has scenes from children's literature

Here is a small piece that utilized some of the leftovers from the big blue quilt.

blue quilt

I love indigo fabric, and made this quilt a few years ago.  I have some leftover pieces from it, and will probably use them in the boro class I am taking.

trees

I finished another boro weaving for my Jude Hill class.  I added some trees cut from Asian fabric.

Overland Park trip

I went to visit my  twin granddaughters (and their parents).  We had a great time.  I went to one of their basketball games.  We also had a large blizzard--lots of snow and wind.  While I was there I took some pictures of Caroline with the comforter I made.  I also patched her favorite pair of jeans that had developed a hole in the knee.  I am taking a class in boro weaving from Jude Hill, so I used her  method.  If you can't tell by the pictures, Caroline is very attached to basketball and KU.
